Audiovisual Case Study - Multipurpose Room Enhancement

Our brief was to enhance the audiovisual systems in LKK Health Products Group’s three existing multipurpose rooms. They required upgraded technologies that had advanced since the rooms’ initial implementation (by another vendor), fixing of audio performance issues and, simplified operation. We upgraded their video matrix system to support high definition video, redesigned the touch panel control system to make it easier to use and enhanced the audio system to deliver more stable audio performance. In addition, a coordinated design of these enhancements increased the overall flexibility of the spaces that can now operate in twenty-four different business-focused configurations.
Reimagined the graphic design of the touch panel to incorporate the client’s corporate visual identity and reinforce the redesigned command-flow.
These three rooms are in use extensively during normal business hours and beyond. In order to minimise disruption to business operations we prepared a detailed, coordinated schedule of works that allowed us to minimise the time we needed to take the rooms out of service and performed the work over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Added three additional cameras for recording and live-streaming of events and training sessions.
Interviewed the users of the system about the difficulties they encounter with the existing touch panel layout. We used that insight to redesign the command-flow of the touch panel and we gave the users the final say on the design. The result was to simplify the systems, and eliminate elements that previously caused user confusion and to make common tasks faster to execute.
Upgraded to Shure Microflex microphones to flawlessly capture the full-range of audio frequencies for clear, detailed voice-lift, capture and communication.
We performed training of the enhance systems for two audiences, the technical team and the non-technical end users.
